MBTR in partnership with CCNY-CPS hosted a meeting for the Philippine Delegates
MedStar Billing Technology and Resources, in partnership with The City College of New York- Continuing and Professional Studies, hosted a meeting for the Philippine Delegates to explore potential synergies in creating innovative platform for delivering HIM services to Filipino patrons at CCNY campus last February 17, 2017.
Ms. Stephanie Penceal, Director of Adult Education of the CCNY-Continuing and Professional Studies, welcomed the Department of Trade and Industry Undersecretary Ms. Nora K. Terrado, Health Information Management Association of the Philippines (HIMAP) President, Ms. Cristina Coronel, Consul Nicanor S. Bautista, Raymond L. Ang, HIMAP Trustee and the 17 different representative of the Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) companies from the Philippines.
Ms. Judilyn F. Canete, CCNY-CPS Allied Healthcare consultant and owner of MedStar Billing Technology and Resources presented the potential synergies in healthcare information management to the Filipino delegates through the training programs of CCNY/MedStar. Ms. Judy has crafted the first and only online/hybrid Certified Billing and Coding Specialist (CBCS) course in New York, which the college has been using to train hospital workers and individuals to become CBCS. This course will be a huge contribution to prepare Filipinos in advancing their potentials to avail of jobs in this field. She cited that MedStar’s active role in the business community makes it easier to establish business connections to help find and link HIMAP to different healthcare facilities.
Paul Chrzanowski, MD. MedStar partner, also stated that partnering with CCNY/MedStar would pave the way for HIMAP members to explore innovative means to achieve its desired growth objective. On the same note, DTI Undersecretary Ms. Nora K. Terrado likewise shared the same outlook that this partnership will be instrumental to opening the gateway of opportunities for HIMAP members.
